A Great Little Moment on "Greek"

Nice scene on ABC Family’s “Greek” last night: Rusty and Jordan are mid-hookup and he interrupts the action to say “I have one question…” and before he can get any other words out she responds with “Yeah, I have some in the drawer.” He wasn’t going to ask about contraception -- he was preoccupied with trying to impress her visiting dad and was about to ask whether he was succeeding -- but when Jordan hinted at the condoms in such close proximity, Rusty seemed happily surprised.

It wasn’t a major plot point in the show -- at least not until Jordan’s father walked in shortly afterwards and caught them making out (so much for impressing him...) -- but it was nice to see a guy turned on by a woman taking control of the protection aspect of sex. Too often guys say they are turned off by a woman who carries condoms -- they say it makes her appear slutty or too sexual.

No such thing, I say. A woman should be her own best advocate for safe sex and she should be commended for taking the precautions necessary to prevent pregnancy before she’s ready. Nice to see that sort of attitude reinforced on TV. Way to go, Greek!
